From Tree to Table...

It all starts with a tree, in this case a nice Bradford Pear tree (or what I call "The Forbidden Tree" because they are now illegal to plant because they are so invasive). I get the majority of my local wood from Todd Kury and his crew from Upstate Arborists. As you can see from the pics and videos, a lot of sweat and labor goes into a beautiful bowl. I was fortunate enough to watch Todd and crew fell this very large, straight-grained example safely, and then cut up the most choice logs and limbs for me to take home in my truck. Then my work begins: cutting up logs, rounding bowl blanks and sealing them, then rough-turning green wood before storing it until it's dry enough to finish. I pour my heart and soul into every piece I craft. I can only hope that love and care is reflected in the final bowl YOU choose and your enjoyment of it on your table for years to come.
